Barnett's lifeless body was discovered on March 12, 2024, within his Clemson orange Dodge Ram truck, with a silver pistol clutched in his hand.

Barnett, 62, had come forward to publicly express his concerns over manufacturing practices at Boeing's South Carolina assembly plant, which produces the best-selling 737 MAX aircraft.
