Banton, Kornet Lead Charge in Magic’s Upset Victory

The Orlando Magic snapped the Boston Celtics’ seven-game winning streak with a hard-fought 106-99 victory on Saturday night.
Dalano Banton led the way for the Magic with 13 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 assists. Luke Kornet added 12 points and 8 rebounds off the bench.
The Magic started the game strong, taking a 30-18 lead after the first quarter. The Celtics rallied back in the second quarter, but the Magic held onto a 53-48 lead at halftime.
The Magic extended their lead to 10 points in the third quarter, but the Celtics again cut the deficit to 80-75 heading into the fourth quarter.
The Magic held on in the fourth quarter, with Banton and Kornet making key plays down the stretch. The Celtics had a chance to tie the game in the final seconds, but Jayson Tatum’s three-point attempt was off the mark.
With the win, the Magic improve to 18-16 on the season. The Celtics fall to 25-9.
